The 1990 Institute and China National Children’s Center are co-sponsoring this event and invited U.S. artists to engage with Chinese Schools’ students and teachers in a collaborative Group- Mural Design and Painting experience.

The major theme for the mural design was GREEN OLYMPICS SPIRIT, since The 1990 Institute’s focus has always been "Good Feelings Between People and Our Common Environmental Concerns".

Well-known Community Mural Painter, Mrs. Susan Cervantes, and her assistants: Mr. Fred Alvarado and Ms. Brenda Miller from the Precita Eyes Mural Arts Center in Mission District, San Francisco, California, U.S.A (www.precitaeyes.org ) traveled to Beijing to direct this event.

Two artists from the San Francisco Bay Area, Ms. Dana Eaton (  www.eatonstudios.com )
and Ms. Peng Peng Wang ( www.pengpengwang.com ) separately organized a special
"Artists’ itinerary" to visit Guilin, Xian, Beijing, and Chengde. Their group of 16 U.S. Artists and friends specially participated at this Mural Painting Festival and assisted Susan Cervantes in building creative energy.
